About this Blog

I started this blog as a record of my journey in learning how to run. I hope my experience can help you too in your mission to get off the couch, start exercising and lose that extra layer.

My posts are honest and personal. I have divided them into three sections that comment on my emotions, the physical run (jog!) and tips for next time to help me improve my performance. I hope you can use these ideas to encourage and help you along in your couch to 5k journey.

Please share your experiences, ideas or questions in the comment section of each post.

  1. Thanks for the video. I'm on W2R1 and in the one minute, I can't seem to get in a rhythm. Could be from my ignorance in correct running form.

  2. I have found I need to remind myself of a couple of things to try and jog correctly:

    1. Lead with my knees and feet, not my head (we are not horses hehe)
    2. Pretend someone is pulling your head and neck up towards the sky
    3. Never focus your eyes on your feet or the ground. Look straight ahead and, if needed, look up into the trees or sky at some moments to help bring your body up.

These may not be technically correct, but they have helped me. Your body is only learning how to jog at the moment and it will slowly correct itself as you become fitter.
